About Rose Hotel
Rose Hotel
406 Napier St , Fitzroy
Melbourne, VICTORIA, 3065
Australia
P:03 9417 3626
The original Rose Hotel was built in 1865 by Samuel Rose (1815- 1867) and has been extended several times. A billiard room described as the most popular in the Colony existed by 1890. The Wellington Street wing added in two stages, one in free classical style, the other Italianate with a two-story wrought iron verandah, is evidence of Bunburys prosperity during the gold-rush era.

Around 1910 the three-story section fronting Victoria Street was built on the sight of the original hotel and adjoining billiard room (the upper most verandah has since been removed). The hotels Sample Room, now bottle shop in Wellington Street reflects an earlier period and is charismatic in its own right.

The Rose Hotel offers modern self-contained motel unit accommodation. Dining, bar and bottle shop facilities are also available. Functions of all sizes, including weddings, can be catered for within the hotel.

Ideally located within walking distance from the "Cappuccino Strip" and entertainment precinct, the hotel has always been a popular stop over for visitors to the South West region.
