About Port Dock Brewery Hotel
10 Todd St , Port Adelaide Adelaide, SA, 5015 Australia P:08 8240 0187
The Port Dock entered South Australian hotel history on June 19, 1855, when its license was proclaimed, along with 15 other new hotels in the rapidly developing colony. Port Adelaide already was a thriving port and refreshments were in great demand.
The beer tasting experience at the Port Dock Brewery Hotel is complimented by the ‘Brewers Paddle’ – six of their beers served in 100ml portions and accompanied with a bitterness chart and tasting notes. The paddle is set up selectively, starting with the bitterest beer and ending with the sweetest to ensure that you do not get ‘palate shock’ by tasting the beers in the wrong order. Their Boutique Brewery contains South Australia’s only Copper and Brass Full Decoction Brew house. Tours of the Brewery can be arranged and they cater for providing you with a unique tasting and dining experience. The selection of beers they brew on premise include Ginja, South Australia's first true brewed alcoholic ginger beer; the international award winning Black Bart Milk Stout; their traditional English style Black Diamond bitter; the classic Pilsner style Hopfield Lager; their famous dark strong ale Old Preacher; and the refreshing and quenching Port Dock Ale (affectionately known as PDA.)
